The Internet

I am young. Young enough that I didn't directly experience New York's most recent rock wave where everyone lived in Williamsburg and everyone was like, Wow what the fuck is the deal with Animal Collective are you telling me that they aren't ironic? Since they're not, that means I missed the death of irony in music which is a huge thing to miss, probably second to the show where every New York band married each other and Dave Sitek produced an entire Strokes album on stage. I'm cool with missing all these events—real and otherwise, but what sucks is how the internet made it so something like that probably can't ever happen again and it is all Nicolay and that guy from Little Brother's fault for making that boring album over instant messenger and reminding people that talking on the internet is easier than talking in real life.

RAPPERS I LIKE THAT NO ONE ELSE LIKES

Blogging

I am starting a blog again because my last one is private on the internet and also because my apartment is a magazine camp and I found out that Cam'ron had his own magazine in which he wrote an editors letter. It made me feel bad about not writing unless I am speaking as a collective.

Also what made me feel bad about not writing is Paul Newman being an old man who recently died. Wow he looked cool didn't he? No one thinks Paul Newman didn't look cool, but here's something I feel bad about: I have never seen Cool Hand Luke in its entirety—I have only seen half because I watched it while sleeping in a bed with another dude because we were on a two day tour with Andrew WK (less interesting than it sounds). I feel good about using Newman's Own products though—these include Newman-Os, which my coworker buys regularly because they are cheap and also Newman's Own Lemonade which I took for granted while in high school but have since been informed by those less fortunate (friends that didn't have it in their house regularly) that it is OH MY GOD THE BEST JUICE EVER AND HAVE YOU HAD THE LIMEAID?

ANYWAY

The blogspot game is different from when I last used to blog because now people care less about rap, including rappers not named David Banner, who cares so much about rap that it is crippling. Remember when everyone had a blog? Everyone still has a blog but I think people care less. I also care less, but I am blogging again so now this is the beginning of a long journey where I write stuff I am thinking about and gain one reader at a time very slowly.
